Savannah Lakes Village Takes Top Award

Savannah Lakes Village, a 4,000-acre gated retirement
development in McCormick, SC, has been named the Best
Overall Active Adult/Retirement Community by the
National Active Retirement Association (NARA). The
community, surrounded by the 70,000-acre Lake Thurmond,
features two private golf courses, an activity center
and beautiful homes, priced at $200,000-$1.5 million.
Community officials received the award at the 7th
Annual NARA
conference on Hilton Head Island, SC, on
Thursday, November 9, 2006.
“The judges felt that Savannah Lakes Village does an
outstanding job
of attracting retirees from a
variety of walks of life to a pristine, if
not
remote, location,” said NARA Director Dan Owens. “People
from
across the United States are moving to tiny
McCormick, SC, to enjoy the
great golf and lake
lifestyle it offers.
“Retirement relocation is truly a growth industry not
only in the
Carolinas, but across the southern
United States,” Owens continued.
“As millions of
Baby Boomers turn 60 each year for the next 20 years,
many
are seeking a warmer climate, as well as the
recreational, cultural and
lifestyle opportunities
found in the South.”
NARA is an eight-year-old national networking and
educational
organization dedicated to those who
build for, serve and market to the
burgeoning 50+
market.
