Baton Rouge, which was flooded with new residents following the hurricanes, continues to have a housing shortage.Figures from the Central Board of Realtors revealed that home sales were steady during the first part of 2007 in the parishes of Rapides, Avoyelles and Grant, as well as the Pineville and Alexandria areas.
In May, Lt. Governor Landrieu recognized the cities of Covington, Crowley, Lake Charles and
Thibodaux and the parishes of Jefferson, St. Landry and Natchitoches for their efforts in attracting and retaining retirees.
